The Third Prayer

I did a lot of sewing this week.  Two hats and two taggie blankets.

 

I am halfway done with making a toy chest for all Mary Rene’s stuffed animals.  After that I am going to attempt a diaper bag and then I will start making the shopping cart covers for my friends.

On Tuesday, Mary Rene and I went to the Lap Time Story Time at our local library.  It happened to be during her morning nap so she was a bit cranky and wouldn’t stay still.  But we plan on doing it again next month.  I was really good about reading to her when she was a baby but as she has gotten older and more active I have been doing it less and less.  We joined the book club and every time I attend one of these events or read a book to her she gets a point.  If she fills her little scoreboard she’ll get two prizes.  wooh!  So this will help get me back into the groove of reading to her again.

It was double coupon week at K-Mart again. 

Here are just a few examples of my savings: Dry Idea was $4.99 but I had a $2 coupon which made the final price $.99. The Edge Shaving Gel was $1.99 but I had a $1 coupon which made the final price $0. The Purrell hand sanitizer was $1.49 but I had a $.75 coupon which made the final price $0. The Temptations cat treats were $1.89 and I had a $1 coupon which made the final price $0. The Hawaiian Tropic sunblock was $5 and I had a $2 coupon which made the final price $1. 

Need I go on?  I love double coupon week at K-Mart.  I just wish Target would host a coupon week!

The last time I washed & vacuumed my Jeep was the week before Mary Rene was born.  Gasp.  It is so disgusting and there is dirt collecting like you wouldn’t believe.  You would think I would keep it cleaner since I have Mary Rene with me all the time but apparently I don’t.  There have been numerous times that I have had good intentions of getting it cleaned but I had too many baby items in the backseat and it was such a hassle to clean them all out.  But this week I cleaned out all the toys and baby blankets and was ready to get my car cleaned.  I even had a 50% coupon for the car wash and had it in my purse ready to use.  But…it has been raining like crazy this week and a car wash seemed a bit pointless.  By the time the rain stops I’ll have toys and blankets in the backseat all over again.  Does this vicious cycle ever end?

Just thought I would mention that I still have not regained my fertility.  I have a few friends that didn’t get it back until they were completely done nursing.  Talk about good birth control!

Mary Rene just slept the whole night without waking up once to nurse or squirm or anything.  She hasn’t done this since she was…10 weeks old!

Mary Rene likes going to the park and we try to go at least once a week.  She likes being pushed in the swing but even more than that she loves the sand!  She sat in the sand for about 15 minutes entertaining herself.

I guess I need to buy her a sandbox for our backyard!
